Identity verification (KYC)
To open and use an UpcShovDown account, you must complete identity verification. We use accredited third-party identity verification providers to confirm the information you give us against trusted sources. The information shared with these providers is limited to what is necessary to perform the check.
Payment processing
Deposits and withdrawals are processed through approved payment processors and acquiring banks. We share only the information needed to complete the transaction. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems.
AML/CTF and fraud-prevention checks
UpcShovDown is a reporting entity under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth). We monitor activity and may request additional information from you, including about the source of your funds or source of wealth. We share information with AUSTRAC and other authorised regulators where required by law.
Responsible gambling and BetStop checks
We check the National Self-Exclusion Register (BetStop) at account opening and at other points required under the National Consumer Protection Framework. We also use limited account information to operate our internal responsible gambling tools, identify possible signs of harm and apply harm-minimisation measures. We do not market to customers who are registered on BetStop or who have applied a self-exclusion through UpcShovDown.
Regulatory reporting
We share information with regulators, government authorities and integrity bodies on lawful request. This includes Liquor & Gaming NSW, the NSW Office of Responsible Gambling, AUSTRAC, the Australian Taxation Office, law enforcement and racing or sports integrity bodies, where lawful and necessary.
Marketing and opt-out
We will send transactional emails about your account regardless of your marketing preferences (for example, security alerts, account statements, identity verification, deposit and withdrawal confirmations). Marketing emails are sent only with your consent. You can opt out of marketing at any time from your account settings or by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional or compliance communications.
